Once in awhile, you get a rare chance to see things in slow motion.

A brown leaf, no longer, spins throught the air in a lovely dancing spiral. Time stands still. All you care for is watching it fall. The fear of blinking and finding it lifeless on the ground hums in your ear. Don't blink! Don't blink.

All too soon it's over. It touches the tarred-road with a heavy soft heartbeat.

You turn away, and resume your brisk pace. Maybe someone else saw it too. Maybe you weren't the only one who thought it was breathtaking. Maybe the moment was shared.

The last thing you remember is the patchy cat you see sleeping on the shady sidewalk.
